Clean and Green Project

This project started in September 2018 in funding partner with ACC Ltd under CSR scheme. In this project, 43 Green projects are responsible to collect wastes from 8500 household at Madukkarai, covering 21 wards nearby ACC Limited, company.
The Green friends were given adequate training to collect wet waste and dry waste separately from the house. Door to Door awareness programme conducted by the field staff to create awareness about importance of segregation of waste as wet / dry waste in household itself. For this purpose, ACC has given free two dustbins for all households.

Accomplishments

During this project, 467922 kg, wet waste collected and given for organic manure at resource centre, Madukkarai.
181376kgs plastic waste collected and given for recycling to Geo centre, Madukkarai.
430249 Kg waste are used for land filling at Madukkarai panchayat.
5498 households giving waste separately to Green friends which makes to reduce their segregation work.
86 plastic mass cleaning campaigns was conducted by involving school and college students.
18 street plays were conducted to create awareness about importance of segregation of waste, at household itself.
